The Bowleys Point Yacht Club (BPYC) is sponsoring an onsite CPR course at Bowleys Marina in the Chandlery on Sunday, September 13th from 1pm - 5pm. This event is open to all Bowleys slip holders at cost of $63/person (or $115.50 for two family members) payable to the instructor on the day of the event.
This is an in-depth, hands-on, and very practical course conducted by a certified instructor. It will cover First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training. Successful completion will result in a certification recognized by OSHA and other workplace organizations. For "professional" boaters, this course will also satisfy USCG requirements for captain's licenses and merchant marine credentials.
While there will be some marine-specific content, the vast majority of the course will be universally applicable under a wide variety of emergency situations that could come up at a moment's notice. This cost here is a significant discount to what the Red Cross or other organizations would charge for a similar course.
