BPYC Needs your Help!
RECORDING SECRETARY
BPYC is in need of a volunteer to step up and take on the roll of Recording Secretary. The primary responsibility of the Recording Secretary is to take notes during yacht club meetings, compile the notes into a pre-made format and then email the minutes to the Corresponding Secretary for distribution to the membership.
The meeting minutes typically follow the meeting agenda, which is presented before the meeting. The Recording Secretary can use the agenda as an outline for the minutes, making the minutes report fairly quick to prepare.
The Recording Secretary is a non-ascending Bridge Officer position that holds a voting rank for all BPYC decisions that require a Quorum to approve. Being a voluntary position, the Recording Secretary is asked to stay on for the remainder of the current calendar year, but can stay on into future years as desired.
Please consider volunteering for this position. You are not expected to ascend to other Bridge Officer positions (Fleet Captain, Rear Commodore, Vice Commodore or Commodore), although that opportunity is available for an interested volunteer.
Interested BPYC members are encouraged to call or email any of our Bridge Officers. Names, phone numbers and email links are provided on the BPYC "About Us" page. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Tom Bachur, BPYC Commodore
